Message from the Head of the Center for Language Education<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Center for Language Education at Okayama University offers students opportunities to learn a variety of languages, including English, Japanese, German, French, Chinese, and Korean. From the 2025 academic year, English courses have become independent of the general education curriculum. Nonetheless, the Center continues to work together as one team covering three language areas: English Language Education, Japanese Language Education, and Introductory Foreign Language Education. Although we have our own specialisms, we all share the same goal\u2014to support students in their language learning. Together, we aim to help students make the most of their studies and time at university.<\/p>\n

We also promote values and competencies beyond language, such as civic awareness and intercultural understanding. These are important for developing the broad perspectives and practical skills needed to contribute to today\u2019s diverse society. Learning a language is not just about words\u2014it is about discovering new worlds and understanding yourself better. We support every student at Okayama University as they challenge themselves and grow on their personal learning journeys.<\/p>\n
