Okayama University is hosting the “Japanese Studies” Program sponsored by the Japanese Government every year. The program invites international students who are Japanese majors at their home universities and who would like to pursue their further studies in Japan for a year (October – September). Selected students receive the Monbukagakusho Scholarship and study Japanese language and culture at host universities in Japan.

The students will belong to the Faculty of Letters, Education, Law, or Economics, and will be supervised by academic advisors. They can attend classes and seminars along with Japanese students in their faculties if their language proficiency is sufficient. A certificate will be given upon the successful completion of the course. Academic transcripts will be issued for students who wish to transfer the credits to their home institution.
